HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) ? Zimbabwe's prime minister says he is deeply disturbed by chaotic preparations for make-or-break elections on July 31 despite the African Union's approval of the process.
Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai said Friday that the "credibility of this election is at risk." He said the state election commission appeared not to be in control of final arrangements, voters' lists still have not been made available to candidates and registration of eligible voters on those lists has not been completed.
"This chaos will lead to inconclusive and contested results," Tsvangirai told a press conference.
Tsvangirai sharply criticized Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, the South African chairperson of the African Union, for declaring in an earlier statement that he had raised no concerns with her.
Dlamini-Zuma said AU observers are "satisfied" with arrangements so far.
