Reports link Don Jail stabbing to alleged Rob Ford crack video
Reports in the Toronto Sun link a stabbing at the Don Jail to the alleged video of Rob Ford possibly smoking crack cocaine.
Both the Sun and the Toronto Star have unconfirmed reports that a man who was stabbed at the facility about 2 months ago is the same man who was shopping that footage to the Toronto Star and US gossip website Gawker.
27-year old Mohamed Siad was swept up by police in a mid-June street gang sting called Project Traveller, a dragnet that resulted in 43 arrests.
25 new drug and weapons charged were laid against Siad.
The Sun quotes unnamed sources as saying Siad was stabbed because some members of the Dixon City Bloods gang wrongly blame Siad, and his alleged tape of the mayor, for putting the gang on investigators' radar.
It is not clear if Siad is the one who shot the video, or whether he simply had the cell phone used to take it in his possession.
The newspaper goes on to claim that Siad still wants to sell the footage -- if it indeed exists.
Allegations are he's even tried, unsuccessfully, to use the tape as leverage for a potential plea bargain.
