Did you know that Arts and Crafts will actually help your child with fine motor skills such as handwriting and typing? Finger strength and dexterity, hand-eye coordination, these are skills every person needs. I find myself despising the mess that arts and crafts make sometimes. But on the flip side, if I give my children free reign with art and craft supplies, it will usually keep them occupied at the table for a very long time. More time for me to blog!
Arts and Crafts are very big at our house during the holidays. We celebrate Advent using my Journey To Bethlehem Advent schedule and almost every day has a different craft activity to complete. We also emphasize Thanksgiving with several craft projects during the month. I just picked up some adorable Turkey and Wreath craft kits from Target. We will get to use glue and stickers. Squeezing that glue bottle is a workout for little hands!
Arts and crafts are a wonderful activity for family bonding. ?When we get out the craft supplies, my big kids love to get involved helping the little ones with their ?project?. ?These kinds of holiday projects have become a favorite tradition in our home. ?If I leave out one of their favorite crafts, my big kids will inform me that the little ones ?need? to make such and such. ?I love that!
