Large-scale modernization of Belarusian economy to start in 2013.
Foreign investors take interest in the largest projects which are being implemented in the country. This is how experts comment on the press-conference of the Head of the State, where the President spoke about the openness to foreign investors. This year it is planned to involve USD 2,5 billion of direct foreign investments from the privatization of enterprises. A convincing contribution may be expected from startup businesses. (Roman Osipov, director of an investment company) Last year Belarus improved its position in the world rating "Doing Business" and it has been improving its position within all the recent years. In comparison with the neighboring countries, Belarus has a good position. Russia places 112th, Ukraine is 137th. The Head of the State set the challenge of entering the top-30 of the rating.
